Every Tuesday 4-7pm beginning May 1st
Sierra Nevada’s commitment to buying local can be seen and tasted from the brewery to the Taproom—and now even in the parking lot! Every Tuesday afternoon, we’re partnering with neighboring farmers and crafters to highlight the best the region has to offer. Come taste an heirloom tomato grown by Mills River’s Paul Shoemaker of Holly Springs Farm or join us as chefs from the Taproom share how to transform the offerings of Greg Carter’s Deep Woods Mushrooms into a delicious dinner. The Sierra Nevada Tailgate Market is bringing neighbors together to support and celebrate the rich farming traditions of our community. Remember to bring your reusable bag for shopping at the market.
May 1—Garden Gala
Opening Day will feature Master Gardeners and the NC State Cooperative Extension staff answering questions about home vegetable gardening and composting, home landscapes, tree health, and lawn care. Buy plant starts for your lawn and garden, plus much more!
May 8– Greens with Envy
Kales, collards, cress …oh my! Greens are abundant in Spring but can be confusing at home– Learn which varieties are best cooked, raw, or juiced. Your next potluck offering will leave your friends green with envy.
May 15—Landscape Lovers
Find the native landscape goodies that will keep your yard rocking all season. The bees and butterflies will thank you… and so will your neighbors!
May 22— Good Thymes: Fun with Herbs
Herbs are kind of a big dill, because your fennel product will taste mint to be. (We really need to herb our enthusiasm. We just caraway too much.)
May 29 –Asheville Beer Week: Meet the Brewer
We’re celebrating Asheville Beer Week! Our world class brewers will bring the magic of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale to the Tailgate Market with a simmering hot demo—literally brewing up our flagship beer in the parking lot! Recipe kits from our ingredient cupboard will be available so homebrewers can brew the hoppy Pale Ale that sparked a craft beer revolution.
Each week, the Tailgate Market will host 30 local farmers, growers, and craftspeople covering a wide array of offerings—
We want you to enjoy eating as locally at home as you can at Sierra Nevada.
