WHEN

CHICO: Saturday, May 12, 2018, 12pm – 8pm

WHAT

BEER:

We’re serving up full-sized pours of your favorites Sierra Nevada beers alongside six awesomely creative beers brewed in collaboration with Sierra Nevada’s amazing employees! Beer Camp will be your one chance to try these beers and once they’re gone…well, they’re gone!

  • Sierra Nevada Employee Collaboration Beer List: Announcing the Collaboration Beer Sampling Tent – a festival style way to experience all 6 Beer Camp Employee Collaboration Beers!

1) Paloma IPA: IBU-55, ABV 6.8%

This crisp West coast IPA is brewed with grapefruit and lime to capture the refreshing tart flavors of the Paloma cocktail. The grapefruit and lime accentuate and add depth to the citrus and floral notes created through the combination of Citra, Strata, and Crystal hops.

2) IPL: IBU 45, ABV 4.8%

This unfiltered lager is hopped with a whopping combination of Mosaic, Mandarina, Simcoe, and Citra lupulin power to pack a citrus and tropical fruit aromatic punch.  We balanced out the smooth malt sweetness with even more hops including El Dorado, Galaxy, and Nug 33.

3) Hoppy American Wheat: IBU 30, ABV 5.8%

This heavily dry hopped American wheat is a bold and juicy take on the traditional wheat beer. Delicious tropical fruit notes are balanced by a mouthwatering tartness created with the addition of just the right amount of sour wort.

4) Turkish Coffee Stout: IBU 28, ABV 7%

Turkish coffee is known for being bold, syrupy, and spicy. We added cardamom directly to the brew kettle to balance the vanilla and toffee notes of the mash. Then we steeped freshly ground coffee directly in the bright tank to impart a full and rich coffee aroma.

5) Blackberry Saison: IBU 27, ABV 7.5%

With its pine aroma and sparkling fruit finish, this ale will invoke summer days spent in the woods, eating berries right off the bush. Blackberry wine along with piney Chinook hops and earthly Mosaic hops create a perfectly balanced take on this farmhouse style.

6) Sour Belgian Wit: IBU 15, ABV 5%

Move over Mimosa, there’s a new brunch champion in town. We added oranges to almost every part of the brewing process; oranges in the mash, orange peel and coriander in the whirlpool, oranges in the lauter tun, and orange peel in the fermenter. All this citrus accentuates the tart notes of sour wort in the kettle, creating a jammy, juicy, and wonderfully lively Belgian Wit.

  • You CAN skip the line: We’ll have can stations throughout the festival because we hate lines as much as you do.

THE FUN STUFF:

Some of Sierra Nevada’s rad versions of traditional day camp activities:

  • Zip line – Why not fly across Beer Camp on a tiny wire?
  • Ropes course – It’s pretty high up, and pretty far out!
  • Rock climbing wall – It’s massive.  It’s probably too tall for you to climb. Wanna prove us wrong?
  • Keg bowling – It’s back and it’s actually “keg chucking,” but bowling sounds more legit.
  • Human foosball – Get your friends ready, or make a few new ones.
  • Hammer-Schlagen®  – Yeah, this is a thing, just Google it!
  • Strider pump track – This is gonna get rowdy and you’re gonna love it.
  • Corn hole – Because this is one of our favorite sports.
  • Arts & crafts – brought to you by Chikoko!
  • Hammock lounge stations – Naptime is back and better than ever!
  • Silent disco – grab some headphones and dance to the beats of one our three DJ’s! Our DJ lineup includes DJ’s Uyes, Jake Sprecher, and Matt Loomis

How do I purchase Beer Tickets?

The answer is twofold:

  1. Skip the line and pre-purchase your Beer tickets online! Pre-purchased beer tickets will be in allotments of five tickets and can be redeemed at dedicated express lines in the beer tickets area. The pre-purchased beer tickets line will move significantly faster; we highly recommend this option.

What breweries will be at Beer Camp?

Beer Camp is all new for 2018. Sierra Nevada will be the only brewery in attendance! Did we mention full-sized pours?

Chico tickets include a beer, but Mills River tickets don’t, what gives?

Because of state and local liquor licensing laws in North Carolina, we aren’t able to include beer with the price of admission. The primary cost of admission covers the cost of activities, entertainment, and general Beer Camp awesomeness.

What is the deal with the designated driver tickets?

There is no designated driver status at Beer Camp. The primary cost of admission covers the cost of activities, entertainment, and general Beer Camp awesomeness. In Chico, we will have non-alcoholic beverage options to replace the beer provided in the price of admission!

  • Non-Alcoholic Beverage List: COMING SOON!

What should I wear?

Traditional summer camp attire is encouraged and costumes are highly encouraged (but not required). You don’t need to get fancy, just have fun with it!

Will there be a costume contest?

Heck yeah, we are awarding one group of festive costume-clad campers a set of free tickets to Beer Camp 2019! We define a group as 2 or more campers. Let’s keep it clean people, but have fun and show your Beer Camp spirit! Our emcee will deliver contest info during the festival.

What’s on the menu?

Check back for the complete list! While we strive to have a selection that meets everyone’s dietary needs, we can’t guarantee that we will be able to accommodate highly restrictive diets. If this is a major concern, please contact us at beercampinfo@sierranevada.com for possible accommodations.

I’m over 21, but my baby isn’t… I’ll be carrying her the whole time, is it okay to bring her anyway?

Sorry, by law no one under 21 can be admitted, regardless of how far under 21 they are…but congrats on the new addition to the family. May we suggest a parents’ afternoon out?

I’m having trouble with the registration system; whom should I call for help?

At the bottom of the Eventbrite page, you’ll find a “contact the organizer” button. Shoot us a message and give us a couple of days to get back to you. We’ll get you taken care of; we’re here to help!

Something came up… I can’t make it. Can you refund my tickets?

Unfortunately, we will not be able to issue refunds for this event. Please find a friend to go in your place. You’ve got lots of friends; someone will want your tickets!

Are Admission Tickets transferable?

Yup, Admission Tickets are 100% transferable. Please remind the lucky recipient to bring a valid government-issued ID along with the ticket. This event is 21+ only.

  • NOTE: Admission Tickets are not transferable between festival locations.

Oops! I’ve lost my license; will you let me in without it?

Well, we’d like to, but we can’t. Legally, we have to make sure everyone inside the event is over 21. Bring your passport or any other government-issued photo ID, and you’ll be good to go!

Should I bring cash or a credit card?

Please bring some form of payment with you for food, additional beer tickets, and maybe something nice for your sweetheart at the gift shop. Skip the line and pre-purchase your Beer tickets online!

Heck yeah, barring a major weather issue we’re going Beer Campin’! Check the weather before leaving your comfy house and bring gear for changing weather. Rain or shine, we’re drinking beer!

Is there anything I can’t bring to the festival with me?

  • Firearms and weapons are NOT permitted on site at Sierra Nevada. If you can’t take it on a plane, it’s not for Beer Camp.
  • Outside food or beverages. There will be plenty to drink and food at Beer Camp – we promise!
