| Premium beers can complement and even intensify
the flavors of food. When picking the best beer to serve with a
particular dish, your own taste buds are the best guide. Experiment
with pairings, and find out which combinations you like. Our Beer
pages offer some suggestions, but remember — there are no
set rules. Have fun! And next time you’re in the Chico area,
stop by our Taproom and Restaurant and try some of our chef’s
favorite food and beer pairings, listed below.
Our menu changes as ingredients come into season, and some dishes
listed may not be available. Your server can recommend an ale or
lager to complement any dish.
PALE ALE goes
great with fresh ling cod coated with Pale Ale beer batter and served
atop Cajun fries, with homemade coleslaw and a wedge of lemon.
WHEAT BEER—and
any pizza from a wood-fired oven—is a dynamite combination,
especially with our Mediterranean or tomato and basil pizza.
PORTER matches
up with jumbo chicken wings in Louisiana hot sauce, served with
bleu cheese dipping sauce.
STOUT stands
up to the strong flavors of locally made sausages, sauerkraut, and
a trio of mustards.
SUMMERFEST
is the perfect accompaniment to Greek flatbread with hummus spread,
topped with Greek salad.
ANNIVERSARY ALE
is the perfect match for the spicy dishes from Southeast Asia and India.
CELEBRATION ALE
goes great with any wood-grilled steak, especially a ribeye with
house-made steak sauce.
BIGFOOT BARLEYWINE STYLE
ALE is the beer lover’s accompaniment to any
dessert, especially chocolate-orange mousse cake.
