From its modest beginnings nearly four decades ago, the San Diego Crew Classic has matured into the largest regatta in the world held for primarily eight-oared rowing shells. The regatta has grown considerably since that three-hour event in 1973. Today, it is a two-day, nationally acclaimed regatta, consisting of close to 100 races with more than 4000 athletes. The protected waters and green lawns of Mission Bay Park offer a perfect setting for this well-loved event. Thousands of spectators watch the races on the popular Jumbotron.
On April 6, 2014, you can be one of a select group of riders to join the 2014 Campagnolo Gran Fondo San Diego. Maybe this is the year you’ll tackle the 105-mile Gran Fondo, traversing the Great Western Loop in East County. Perhaps the Medio or Piccolo are the rides for you. Regardless, from the Ferrari-led rollout through Little Italy to the last bite of post-ride pasta, you’ll love the entire Campagnolo Gran Fondo San Diego experience. - See more at: http://www.sdgranfondo.com/#sthash.BBrXx9Lr.dpuf
In 2013, Festivals 4 a Cause surpassed our attendance and fundraising goals and was able to donate $20,000 to Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation and $6,000 to San Marcos High School Track and Field. For 2014, we have identified Child Abuse Listening Mediation (CALM) as our beneficiary and we are proud to donate to this excellent cause. We expect to sell out in 2014 with total attendance nearing 2,800. We learned quite a bit in our initial year and will have many more amenities and intend to make your experience even better.
